You may submit a single work in only ONE of the categories below:

- PROSE – (fiction, non-fiction, or memoir). Adults and Students in grades 8-12
- POETRY – Adults and Students in grades 8-12
Please Note: contest judges, EPIC board members, committee members, and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter this contest. Your work must be in English, and not previously published. Entries containing graphic sexuality, extreme violence or gratuitous offensive language will not be considered.
Our judges will evaluate your work with attention to organization, development, voice, and attention to the conventions and craft of writing.
SUBMISSION RULES and FORMATTING
- All entries must be submitted as a Word document (.doc or .docx)
- All submissions must have the title and page number(s) in the top right corner of the page.
- DO NOT include your name on the document.

ENTRY FEES:
- Payments must be made through PayPal, which also accepts your credit card.
- Adult-EPIC Member: $10 (non-refundable)

PRIZES:
- First Place (prose and poetry) $150
- Second Place (prose and poetry) $75
- Honorable mentions may be selected at the discretion of the judges. No cash awards.
Winners will be notified May 7- 8, 2022. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Time and venue (Zoom or The Louvre Café in Edmonds) to be announced at a later date. At the Awards Ceremony, winners will be invited to read their winning works.
