FN – Peregrine’s Prose Call 2022
Peregrine accepts only original and previously unpublished poetry and short prose. We seek work that is unpretentious, memorable, and that reflects diversity of voice. No work for or by children. Peregrine accepts submissions only through the Submittable portal. We welcome simultaneous submissions, however please add a note to your submission if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Please send submissions of no more than 750 words of prose (memoir/creative nonfiction and/or fiction) and limit prose submissions to no more than 2 per writer.
Please include a bio of no more than 50 words with your submission.
We seek texts that inform, inspire, and surprise us. We appreciate fresh, specific imagery and metaphors, (but not excessive verbiage, abstractions or clichés).
We will not consider children’s stories or journalistic opinion pieces. Though pieces can certainly have political or religious themes, we will not consider tirades or rants.
We’re looking for well written, thoughtful stories. Peregrine has a mandate of inclusivity which encompasses encouraging the work of emerging as well as established writers. We also encourage submissions from groups which have not historically been well represented in mainstream literature, such as LGBTQ, neurodivergent, POC and writers with disabilities.
_______________
Exceeding the word and line limits can result in the rejection of your submission. Please don’t deny us the opportunity to evaluate and publish your work based on its merit alone; ensure that your work is within the guidelines listed here.
Please note: submitting your work through this portal constitutes your agreement that your work, if accepted, may be published by Peregrine in the 2022 printed edition.
(Also please note – reading and editing staff of Peregrine are not eligible for inclusion in this journal.)
