37th Annual Poetry Anthology Contest
The Niagara Branch of the Canadian Authors Association is holding its 37th Annual Poetry Anthology contest for residents of Ontario only.
Entry Deadline: May 31, 2022
- Contest results will be posted on our website in early August.
- Only poets with work chosen for the anthology will be notified.
Submission Rules:
- Entries must be in English, previously unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Number of entries is unlimited. Up to four poems from one poet can appear in the anthology.
- By entering the contest, you agree to receive future mail-outs about our contest, and give the CAA Niagara Branch first rights to publish your poem in The Banister.
- Submissions will be accepted from Ontario residents only
- Submissions will not be returned. However poets without internet access may include a self-addressed stamped envelope for replies
Prizes include publication in The Banister:
- First Prize-$300
- Second Prize-$200
- Third Prize-$100
Submission Requirements:
- Print should be black in 12 pt. Times New Roman on 8.5 x 11inch white bond paper, one side only, one poem per page. Line lengths exceeding 50 characters may be broken at the discretion of the committee.
- Poems running to two pages require a title and page number at the top of each page.
- No poems longer than two pages will be accepted.
- Your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and titles of your poem(s) must appear on a separate title page only. There should be no identifying marks on poem pages.

Entry Fees to be paid by cheque accompanying the submission:
- $15 includes up to three poems; $4 for each additional entry
- Cheques to be made payable to: Canadian Authors Association – Niagara Branch
