P – Drifting Sands: A Journal of Haibun and Tanka Prose Seeking Haibun on the Theme of Peace

This issue’s theme is peace and related themes, such as nonviolence and war versus peace. Most people value peace, so why is the world so full of conflict? Let’s use the occasion of writing and enjoying great haibun to present on the topic. I am only looking for great haibun. I like fresh and precise language, originality, and imagery. I will give equal consideration to both experimental/unconventional and traditional haibun.

Guidelines

- The expectation is that your submission comes in edited and polished. Do not expect the guest editor to workshop your submission. Thank you!
- While the guest editor will make every effort to communicate the decision as soon as possible, please wait two weeks after the submission deadline has passed to query about your submission.
- Your haibun/tanka prose must be original, previously unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Works posted on social media platforms or personal blogs will be considered.
- Please send your haibun/tanka prose in the body of the email. Do not send attachments, we will not open them!
