P – Whiptail: Journal of the Single-line Poem Seeks Submissions on the Theme: “Flora and Fauna”

For this issue, PLEASE SEND ONLY WORK RELATED TO THE THEME FLORA AND FAUNA. Please ensure the poems you are sending are single-line poems only. 

– Individual poems – Please submit 2-5 one-line poems of any variety, including monostich haiku, senryu, one-line tanka, poetic fragments, one-line micropoems, or lyrical lines. We will not consider prose sentences. Poems may be one word in length up to a column’s width, written horizontally, vertically, or as a concrete poem (see below) in any shape a line may take. Such poems must work as a single-line poem with the display enhancing the meaning. For an example, see the haiga by Shloka Shankar in the Summer section of Issue 1, or the concrete haiku by m. shane pruett in Issue 2.

– Sequences – Please submit 2-3 sequences of up to eight single-line poems. Sequences should have a title, should link and shift between each individual poem (or poet, if collaborating), and not have obvious repetition throughout the sequence OR TITLE. Additionally, it should travel. Feel free to submit any format of sequencing you like. See note below on how to send.

– Poetic images – One-line concrete poetry, and haiga, shahai, and vispo that employ a single-line poem will be considered. Submit 2-3. Submit 2-3 in 600 dpi+.

– Submissions of any mix of the above are welcome up to 5 total.
