PF – Audience Askew Literary Journal Seeking Submissions. Theme: “Strangers”

September 30, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
$2

We are a quarterly magazine that features a dozen or so stories that could be best described as the black sheep of the literary world. So send us the stories and stanzas that don’t quite fit in anywhere else.

The theme of our autumn issue is “strangers.”  Send us anything quirky and unique that related to the theme in any way.

Submissions

Unfortunately, at this time we are a non-paying venue, but contributors will receive a free digital copy of the issue that their work appears in.

Short stories: 50-3,000 words. Works outside this range will still be considered, but are a harder sell. Submit up to three at a time in a single document.

Poetry: 2-60 lines. Submit up to three at a time in a single document.

  • No sexism, racism, ageism, ableism, or any other isms.
    Works may contain these themes so long as they are not glorified;
  • It must be your own original work;
  • It must be previously unpublished
    exceptions: works posted on personal blogs, websites, Patreon, Reddit, etc. Artwork can be submitted if it is still in your right to do so after a previous publication;
  • It does not infringe on existing copyright material (this includes fan fiction);
  • No AI-rendered art or text;
  • Submit once per reading period;
  • Simultaneous submissions are okay, if accepted elsewhere let us know ASAP;
  • Please don’t resubmit a rejected piece. If you’ve made significant revisions, contact us first.
  • We read submissions blind. Do not put any identifying information on your submission, including the file name. Files with identifying information will be deleted unread.

Decisions will be made in the first week of October as to which non-expedited works were accepted.
