PFN – Submissions Open for Prosetrics: The Literary Magazine’s Halloween Special: Nocturnia

October 28, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Theme: “Nocturnia” – A Halloween Descent into the Liminal

This Halloween, we invite you to journey into Nocturnia — a world caught between shadow and moonlight, where reality bends, the strange feels familiar, and the familiar turns strange. We’re looking for pieces that embody the spirit of Nocturnia: eerie, elegant, unsettling, or uncanny. This is not just horror — it’s the haunting echo in a quiet room, the bittersweet memory that resurfaces at midnight, the beauty in the grotesque.

What fits Nocturnia?
Gothic shadows and quiet dread
Supernatural whispers and spectral beauty
Witches, ghosts, monsters — reimagined or raw
Autumnal decay and rituals lost to time
Liminal spaces: doorways, dreams, forests, forgotten towns
The mask behind the mask

NOTE: All works, whether unveiling life’s hidden truths, exploring personal mysteries, or celebrating beauty in unexpected places, should feel as though they exist within the world of Nocturnia. Whether your piece is tragic or joyful, vibrant or grim, it should carry the essence of Nocturniahaunting, surreal, introspective, and touched by the strange.
