DESCRIPTION:Laux/Millar RR Poetry Prize Raleigh Review\n\nJUDGING \n\nSTANDARD ENTRY FEE: $15 USD\nIF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP\, THERE IS AN OPTION TO SUBMIT FOR FREE HERE ON DUOSUMA.\nFREE SUBMISSIONS BASED ON HARDSHIP ARE ON THE HONOR SYSTEM\, NO APPLICATION or EVIDENCE REQUIRED.\nYOU MAY ALSO TIP LESS THAN THE STANDARD RATE\, TIPS ARE OPTIONAL.\nDORIANNE LAUX & JOSEPH MILLAR ARE THE FINAL JUDGES.\n\nPRIZES \n\nFirst Prize includes $500 USD and publication.\nFinalists will receive standard $15 payment along with publication.\nHonorable Mentions will be considered for publication and standard payment.\nAll Finalists and Honorable Mentions will receive a 2-year subscription to Raleigh Review\nInternational winners\, those based outside the US\, will receive payment\nin copies of Raleigh Review.\n\nGUIDELINES: \n\nOpens on January 1\, 2024 (on both Submittable and Duosuma) \nDuosuma deadline is February 2\, 2024 – Fee Free or Tip Jar.\nThe fee free option is for those who are truly in need of a fee free pathway.\nA dislike\, a disdain or an aversion for fees alone is not a qualifier for the fee free submission option.\nWe do not ask for evidence or for an application. The fee free option is on the honor system. \nSubmittable Deadline is June 1\, 2024 at midnight EST.\nWE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE SUBMISSIONS AT ANYTIME.\nWe never extend deadlines. \nSubmit up to five pages of unpublished poems per entry.\nAttached files should be free of personal identifiers such as name\, address\, phone and email\, social media handles\, etc.\nSimultaneous submissions are acceptable.\nFailure to meet guidelines may result in disqualification.\nCurrent students or affiliates of Raleigh Review editorial staff and Raleigh Review board members are not eligible to enter.\nThis contest is open to poets who reside in the USA (regardless of immigration status).\nBeginning in 2021\, those outside the USA are most welcome to submit to this prize though payment for any winners who happen to be based outside the USA will be in copies of Raleigh Review since we are not permitted to mail checks outside our own country.
