SUMMARY:PN - Rabbit: A Journal for Nonfiction Poetry Now Accepting Submissions for Issue 39. Theme: Mutiny
DESCRIPTION:Rabbit is currently accepting poetry submissions for Issue 39: the MUTINY Issue. \nWhen you don’t trust the captains\, it’s time to take back the ship. \nFor Rabbit: MUTINY\, we seek rogue poems that resist the usual rules of resistance. We’re after nonfiction poems\, in all aesthetic registers\, that scorn the tyranny of planned obsolescence\, false idolatry\, rabid anthropocentrism\, bad governance\, and the logic of the market above all else. Send us your long-sighted\, large-hearted\, reverent/irreverent calls to arms.  Any increment of subversion or transgression\, down to and including dumb insolence\, is eagerly solicited for this issue. Now is not the time to be a civic coward. \nWe invite poets to send up to 3 poems in one document through Rabbit’s Submittable site. Please include in the cover letter of your submission: \n• full contact details (postal address\, email) \n• 50-word max. bio \n• a short (50-word max.) response to the following: “Name a poem or a work that refuses to obey orders\, that incites rebellion\, or that questions the validity of authority\, and why it gets you.”

SUMMARY:PFN - Litmora Literary Magazine Seeking Submissions on the Theme of Flower Language
DESCRIPTION:For this issue\, our theme is flower language – take that as you will. Hanihaki\, Victorian declarations of betrayal and hurt\, or how plants communicate with each other and the world around them. Alternatively\, anything we haven’t listed here – the weirder the better! Hit us with what you’ve got! \nISSUE 3 Theme: Flower Language\n \nSpring’s approaching here in Western New York\, and thus we’ll begin to see the snowdrops and daffodils make their way up through the ground or snow. Sometimes\, both! For this issue\, we’re looking for pieces that incorporate aspects of flower language into the piece or wholly embody the concept – we aren’t particular subscribers to any “one” flower language. If the meaning is clear (or unclear\, even)\, we’re on board – we aren’t all too picky. Just have fun and make us look back and double-check preconceived notions of what hydrangeas (or: any other flower) mean. \nThis theme is also not limited to just flowers\, but botany as a whole. What does it mean when we have a hollowed-out pumpkin stuffed with daylillies on our front porch? Whatever the answer\, we’re looking forward to it! \nWe look forward to seeing your work! We’ve got some rough guidelines for submissions – please email us if your submission can’t be uploaded in any of these forms – we can definitely work something out! \n\nWe accept our submissions blind. Please don’t submit documents with your name on them! We will yell.\nMake sure you’re not plagiarizing someone else’s work. If your piece references another work\, please be sure to indicate that in your submission.\nWe will not accept works which promote hate speech\, racism\, homophobia\, transphobia\, etc. Common sense. Kinda?\nONE submission (piece) PER dropbox. Do not send three prose pieces in one box and then two poems in another. We will also yell about this\, and may reject all if you are submitting more pieces than there are dropboxes.\n\nPreviously-accepted submissions are more than fine! Just let us know who accepted it first\, so we can credit them 🙂\n\nPoetry (.docx or .doc\, Max 40 Lines) \nFiction (.docx\, or .doc\, Max 2500 Words) \nCreative Nonfiction (.docx or .doc\, Max 2500 Words)
