SUMMARY:PN - Rabbit: A Journal for Nonfiction Poetry Now Accepting Submissions for Issue 39. Theme: Mutiny
DESCRIPTION:Rabbit is currently accepting poetry submissions for Issue 39: the MUTINY Issue. \nWhen you don’t trust the captains\, it’s time to take back the ship. \nFor Rabbit: MUTINY\, we seek rogue poems that resist the usual rules of resistance. We’re after nonfiction poems\, in all aesthetic registers\, that scorn the tyranny of planned obsolescence\, false idolatry\, rabid anthropocentrism\, bad governance\, and the logic of the market above all else. Send us your long-sighted\, large-hearted\, reverent/irreverent calls to arms.  Any increment of subversion or transgression\, down to and including dumb insolence\, is eagerly solicited for this issue. Now is not the time to be a civic coward. \nWe invite poets to send up to 3 poems in one document through Rabbit’s Submittable site. Please include in the cover letter of your submission: \n• full contact details (postal address\, email) \n• 50-word max. bio \n• a short (50-word max.) response to the following: “Name a poem or a work that refuses to obey orders\, that incites rebellion\, or that questions the validity of authority\, and why it gets you.”

SUMMARY:PFN - The Twin Bill Seeking Submissions. Theme: Opening Day
DESCRIPTION:Submissions \nArtwork by Scott Bolohan\nFiction \nWe are interested in short stories up to roughly 5\,000 words. Anything we deem significantly over the word count will not be read out of respect for the number of submissions our editors receive. \nWe are looking for writing that displays a strong personal style and a connection to the game of baseball. Most of all\, we are excited by stories that situate baseball in a broader context\, beyond the action of an individual game or at-bat. The more surprising connection to baseball\, the better. There is a $25 honorarium per accepted story. \nCreative Nonfiction \nCreative Nonfiction at The Twin Bill is a place for true stories\, boldly told. We have no formal requirements or word count\, and we encourage experimentation in the name of contemporary storytelling. \nThat said\, we urge writers to consider their story carefully and to use not a word more than strictly necessary. \nThere is a $15 honorarium per accepted piece. \nPoetry \nPlease send up to five poems per issue. We love baseball from all eras\, but we would particularly like to see poems of a more contemporary style or subject matter. \nThere is a $10 honorarium per accepted poem. \nGuidelines \nWe are on Submittable. Please submit here. There is a $3 submission fee. Writers retain all rights to their work. We are only interested in previously unpublished work. Simultaneous submissions are fine\, but please let us know if it is accepted elsewhere.
