DESCRIPTION:Rabbit is currently accepting poetry submissions for Issue 39: the MUTINY Issue. \nWhen you don’t trust the captains\, it’s time to take back the ship. \nFor Rabbit: MUTINY\, we seek rogue poems that resist the usual rules of resistance. We’re after nonfiction poems\, in all aesthetic registers\, that scorn the tyranny of planned obsolescence\, false idolatry\, rabid anthropocentrism\, bad governance\, and the logic of the market above all else. Send us your long-sighted\, large-hearted\, reverent/irreverent calls to arms.  Any increment of subversion or transgression\, down to and including dumb insolence\, is eagerly solicited for this issue. Now is not the time to be a civic coward. \nWe invite poets to send up to 3 poems in one document through Rabbit’s Submittable site. Please include in the cover letter of your submission: \n• full contact details (postal address\, email) \n• 50-word max. bio \n• a short (50-word max.) response to the following: “Name a poem or a work that refuses to obey orders\, that incites rebellion\, or that questions the validity of authority\, and why it gets you.”

DESCRIPTION:[Theme: Happy Phantom]   \nWhat pleasant ghosts have stopped to visit you recently? What red-haired anthems do you play on repeat while smiling specters tap at the window? A favorite album spins on repeat in the background shaking the walls like an earthquake. Shadows you consider friends peek out behind corners. We’re open for Happy Phantom submissions\, inspired by the artist and album that got us through some hard times; and the delight that comes with considering some songs visitors from the past. \nWe love surprising interpretations of our themes; we’re less keen on literal interpretations. That being said\, if we receive a piece that isn’t–in some way–reflective of the theme\, we’ll gnash our teeth and shake our fists at the heavens and then send you a wimpy rejection letter. Don’t make us do that–we hate that. \nWe love unpublished writers just as much as we love published writers (sometimes even more so). MMPP is more likely to publish work that is provocative and invigorating rather than overly complicated pieces of pomposity. Excite us with your garden-fresh flash and titillate us with your gutsy poems. Let us home your vigorous words and create art to accompany them. And after we marry your wise wordery\, we’ll bring the lit to the great outdoors. Length of the work: our sweet spot is between 150 to 300 words. Anything over or under\, we’ll be less psyched on. Poems? Let’s try to keep it under 25 lines\, bbz\, and no more than 3 poems per submission. Please indicate whether this is prose or poetry in your title or cover letter. We accept re-prints so long as you own the rights. \nIf you are rejected\, please wait until the next theme to submit.
