DESCRIPTION:SUBMISSIONS OPEN FOR HINTERLAND \nthe leaves bleed like paint on a canvas. lessened\, the light glowers over the distant hill. you furnish a language with loss\, break open words that fall in passionate embrace. ancestors whisper on your eyelashes across snowdrifts. you coil yourself into the wilt of yarrow\, the immensity of chasms. folk tales that dazzle with quiet\, spirit walks\, the sleeping land.  \nyou are invited to submit your work in the theme HINTERLAND. we are especially happy to receive writing about loss\, love\, sex\, nature and the liminal but with the singular imagery that the winged moon seeks to publish. \nSubmissions are open on 2 October until 13 November \nPLEASE read all of the guidelines and send us your work here .​​ \nWe publish: \nPoetry (around 30 lines is our limit) \nProse Poetry  (300 word limit) \nMicro Fiction (300 word limit) \nWe do not publish one line poetry\, haiku (unless in a haibun) or other poetry forms of that size. Nor do we publish any work that is disrespectful to any group. We are not especially favourable to work that references technology or the electronic world. Please read our last issue to have a feel for our writing and artistic preferences. \nBefore you send your work: \nPlease have a look on our website and subscribe to the magazine (you can for free) to read the previous issues and before submitting https://thewingedmoon.substack.com/ and to support The Winged Moon\, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. \nPlease only TWO written items per genre. \nArt submissions please send three maximum \nSimultaneous submissions are accepted and previously published work. Please let us know if it is.​ Also as we read all of the work after the deadline. So please bear that in mind before sending your work simultaneously. We will give a response within two weeks of the submission deadline.
