SUMMARY:F - Blink-Ink Seeking Submissions for Issue #61 on the Theme of: Phones
DESCRIPTION:When Alice Cooper sang The telephone was ringing …. he established a real sense of urgency. Somebody had to deal with the phone! What happened? Now our devices natter away\, pulling us this way and that. \nHave a “work phone” and a “personal”\, maybe a “secret phone” for only certain people? We are interested in how all of this has changed us and our behaviors. Past\, present\, future––pretend\, or all too real. \nSend us your best stories of approximately fifty words about Phones in the body of an email to: blinkinkinfo@gmail.com. Submissions are open June 1st\, 2025 through July 15th\, 2025. No attachments\, poetry\, bios\, or AI generated content\, please. We love poetry but do not publish it. \nWhat we love most is writing that has found that preternatural detail of thought or thing that cracks the story open and allows it to matter or to reveal a truth. \nNearly all of our issues are themed and guidelines specific to the current theme along with opening and closing dates for submissions to those issues will appear here on our website\, on our Facebook page and in New Pages and Duotrope. \nWe want your best\, original and unpublished work and will consider up to four stories at any one time. We do reply personally to every submission and every query. We aim to treat you right. \nSometimes we wish to make small changes in a piece we want to publish but will never do that without consulting you— with one exception: If you have offset the final line of a piece for no good reason\, we will put it back in the body of the piece where it belongs. \nNo fees\, and quick-ish response.

SUMMARY:PFN - Mom Egg Review (MER) Seeking Submissions on Mother & Family for Issue 24
DESCRIPTION:We publish literary work on mothers\, mothering\, and motherhood\, in all its forms. You need not be a mother to submit\, as long as your piece is focused on motherhood.  \nMER 24 will be a themed issue. The theme is \nMER 24: Mother & Family \nOften\, as mothers\, we are the nuclei of families—of the legacies\, obligations\, and stories that orbit around us. Family of heritage\, family of birth\, family of choice\, our greater human family: our families can be sources of support\, of exhaustion\, of love\, of pain.  Our families can pass down to us lore or trauma. For MER 24\, we are exploring poems that address our role as mother in these unwieldy units\, how we embroider with and untangle these familial threads that can heal or hinder. Send us your poems\, your family recipes\, your generational myths\, your memories that you’ve borne\, your visions for the future. \nPlease read our print journal and online quarterly: http://merliterary.com \nWe publish poetry (up to 3 poems\, no more than 5 pages)\, and fiction\, creative prose/nonfiction\, and hybrid works (up to 1000 words) on mothering or motherhood. You need not be a mother to submit. Our calendar conforms to Eastern Time. \nSubmit work that has not been previously published online or in print. Simultaneous submissions are okay\, but please let us know promptly if your submission is accepted elsewhere\, by using your Submittable.com account to add a note to your submission telling us which titles are no longer available for consideration. \nSubmissions will be considered for the print issue and for MER Online on our website unless you specify that you are only submitting for one or the other. If you have previously submitted to MER online or print\, we request that you submit work other than that previously submitted. \nPLEASE NOTE: If your work was included in the Mom Egg Review Vol. 23\, please wait until next year to submit in the same genre to our print issue. You may submit in a different genre. If you submit work in the genre previously published\, it will be considered for online publication only. \n  \nHow to submit \nWe use Submittable for online submissions\, and do not accept paper or email submissions. \nCover letter: Please include the title(s) of each individual work in the submission and a brief (50-75 word) third person bio. \nSubmit your work in one document named “Last name\, First name\, Genre.”  We strongly prefer .doc\, docx\, .txt\, or .rtf. If your work requires a pdf\, please email us at mersubmissions@gmail.com and attach the pdf. \nPoetry: Please submit up to 3 poems in a single word or text document of no more than 6 pages with the file name Last name\, First name\, Poetry. Please number your pages and start each poem on a separate page. Important: Please left justify your poem without indenting and single space your poem unless indenting or extra spacing is an integral part of the poem. \nCreative Prose\, Fiction\, Cross-genre: Please submit one piece up to 1000 words\, or several short-short pieces that total fewer than 1000 words in all\, in a single word or text document with the file name Last name\, First name\, Genre. Please double space\, number your pages\, and put title of the submission (but not your name) on top of each page. \nContact: MERsubmissions@gmail.com (Please be sure to add this address to your email program so that you can receive correspondence from us). We will add all submitters to our mailing list (we send a bimonthly newsletter) but you may unsubscribe if you wish. \n\nTerms of publication \nYou represent that you created the piece\, you own the rights to the piece\, and allow us to publish it. If you collaborated with anyone or thing (eg. AI) in creating the piece\, you must note that on the page. MER acquires first-time publication rights to the piece. We also reserve the right to republish it in a future electronic and/or print collections. Back issues are archived indefinitely. Rights return to the authors after publication; after the contributions have appeared in MER\, the authors may republish their pieces in any manner they wish but it is requested they acknowledge prior publication in MER. \nWe are a volunteer organization\, and are unable to pay for pieces at this time. A complimentary PDF contributor copy of the complete issue will be emailed to contributors prior to the launch date. You will also have the opportunity to purchase hard copies at reduced contributor rates if you wish. \nWe will respond by November 2025. The issue will be published in April 2026. \nThanks for submitting to MER. We look forward to reading your work. \n\n\n  \nSubmission fee: $3

SUMMARY:PFN- Epistemic Literary Seeking Submissions on the Theme of: Nostalgia
DESCRIPTION:Theme: Nostalgia \n\n\n\n\nFor our sixth issue\, we’re exploring the idea of NOSTALGIA. Whether a longing for the sentiments of the past\, or a marketing trend that capitalizes on childhood favorites\, we often find comfort in yesterday when today presents challenges. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBut that comfort is often rooted in the pain of longing\, the disdain for change\, and the fear of moving forward. \nHow does this powerful force influence your life? \nExpected publication late August 2025. Please submit a new form for each genre. \nGenre: \nPoetry\, including prose poems: One poem\, up to two pages – Read by Kristin. *Editors note: I have a strong preference for shorter\, free-verse works but I’d love for you to knock my socks off with longer\, metrical\, or rhyming works. \nFlash and MicroFiction: maximum three pieces up to a total of 1500 words – read by Melissa \nCreative Nonfiction (CNF): maximum two pieces up to 1k words each – read by Genalea \n(All final decisions are joint.) \nFormat: Please submit your work using our Google Form. Attach your file as a Doc or docx (If this is a problem submit how you need to and give us a heads up in your email)\, saved as “genre-last name” such as “Poetry-Houlihan.” No cover letter required; we will ask for a short third-person bio with website upon acceptance. \nSimultaneous submissions and previously published work are welcome; please note the original publication so we may give appropriate credit. Collaborations are welcome. \nAll submissions will receive a response prior to publication.
