SUMMARY:PF - The Clayjar Review Seeking Submissions on the Theme: Rooted
DESCRIPTION:Submissions\n\ntheme\nOur Summer 2025 theme is Rooted. For our summer issue\, we invite you to consider the particularities of the people and places you know and love. What might it mean for you/us to emulate the “settling down” of Christ?Consider the ethos of writers such as Wendell Berry\, Annie Dillard\, and Marilynne Robinson to inform your work. Don’t shy away from your corner of the world\, however unassuming you may consider it. \nRead more about our summer theme here: Rooted \n\n\nguidelines\n\n\npoetry:\n\n\nSee “About” section to get a feel for what kind of poetry we are looking for \n\n\nUp to 3 poems per submission \n\n\nPoems can be any length \n\n\nSimultaneous submissions are accepted\, but please inform us if your piece is accepted elsewhere \n\n\n\n\nprose:\n\n\nProse is distinct from poetry in that it has a more natural flow of speech & structure; see “About” section to get a feel for what we are looking for \n\n\nLess than 1\,000 words \n\n\nOne prose piece per submission \n\n\nSimultaneous submissions are accepted\, but please let us know if your piece is accepted elsewhere \n\n\n\n\nmusings:\n\n\nOur Musings are meant to set readers on a path to meditating on certain concepts or certain aspects of God’s character. Part of being a Christian is accepting that we don’t know everything\, that there are things we cannot explain\, Musings can tackle these areas and leave readers in a place of pondering. \n\n\nNo less than 500 words\, no more than 1\,000 \n\n\n\n\ncraft:\n\n\nCraft articles should explain a creative exercise or form that creative writers can use to hone their craft. Your post should include both a clear connection on how this exercise relates to the spiritual discipline of writing and an example of the completed exercise so your readers can have a practical model to follow. \n\n\nYou can also choose to explore the work of a particular writer in a Craft Article. Your post should directly reference one or more of the poet’s work and how they might be a model for us today\, both in a spiritual and practical approach to writing. \n\n\nNo less than 1\,500 words\, no more than 2\,000 \n\n\nCraft Submissions will be exclusively posted on our Substack and are open year-round. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNo-nos\nWe do not consider works that include profanity\, dark humor\, explicit content\, or sexual innuendo. We will not publish works created by or altered by artificial intelligence\, as well as works that have been fully or partially plagiarized. \nWe do not accept works that have been previously published by other journals or magazines (Personal blogs are acceptable). \n\nWe’re honored to review your work! Clayjar Review asks for first time rights and acknowledgement as the first place of publication. Published pieces will be archived on our website as well.

SUMMARY:PFN - Call for Submissions to Opal Age Tribune. Theme: Fata Morgana
DESCRIPTION:Fata Morgana is a mirage\, an Italian word and the Arthurian sorceress Morgan Le Fey’s creation. For this edition\, we’re embracing the allure of illusion and taking chances on castles in the sky.\nWe’re interpreting Fata Morgana as something that makes your soul feel like it’s going 200 kph while your body stays still. The embodiment of the feeling of yearning and dreaming after seeing a movie that really hits in the theater\, walking away with a piece of your soul still sitting in chocolate shelled velvet seats. \nIt’s the moment before making a decision that will change the trajectory of your life\, or the memory of being seven years old and working up the courage to try sour candy for the first time. Or it’s serendipitous moments that you just can’t explain. \nWhat are we looking for? Send us your flash fiction\, eternity glimmers\, poetry\, inexplicable sensations\, soul whispers\, prose\, acts of free will\, theoretical essays\, serendipitous happenings\, plays\, incomprehensible mystery\, paintings\, consciousness glimpses\, esoteric musings\, analysis of art that makes your heartbeat a little faster\, personal mythologies\, perpetual yearnings\, memory expressions\, immortality tips\, lore\, out of body experiences\, daily magics\, whimsy awakenings\, ancestral healing\, fashion\, messages from friendly spirits\, butterfly effects\, personal philosophies\, string theories\, wonders\, the indomitable human spirit. \nDo I have to be queer to submit?\nOpal Age is a space dedicated and created by queer community.\n\n\nWe use words like “queer” so as to not be limited in our scope. Further\, “queerness” is in alignment with our philosophy. After all\, we dream borderlessly. \nIt is not required to disclose your identity to us. This is to honor the private lives of those who submit. Please do not assume the identity\, in turn\, of those who are published. \nWe will always shamelessly be a queer creative collective but we know too well the confines of the closet and societal dangers queer individuals face internationally. \nIt is our assumption and practice that those who submit are in solidarity with the queer community; our struggles and our limitless capacity for joy. \n\n\n  \nWhat to include in your submission\nPlease send your work in an editable format. Google Docs are preferred. \nInclude: \n1. Preferred name to be published with your work (or mark “anonymous” if you don’t want to share your name) \n2. Your Pronouns \n3. Social Media Handle for others to follow you and credit your work (optional) \n4. Where you’re from \n5. Type of Submission: \nEx: Letters\, Theory\, Poetry\, etc. \n6. Any Other Info You Want to include with your work \n(Images\, Medium\, Inspirations\, etc.) \nWe will be in contact with you a few days after submissions end to let you know if your work will be included in the next edition. \nWho can submit? Anyone and everyone. Aspiring creatives or those who have already been in the spotlight. See our submissions page for more details. \n  \nIs there  word count requirement?\nNo minimum\, 2000 word maximum per piece. (for now…) >:) \n  \nReady to submit?\nSend your piece as a .jpg\, .png\, Google Doc\, or PDF to opalagetribune@gmail.com
