Left Unsaid. We like the phrase's suggestion of mystery, innuendo, high stakes, and emotional conflict. Sometimes what's left unsaid is the cause of pain, sometimes it's the source of power.

Paris never fails to capture the imagination of artists, writers, musicians, and other dreamers. We want your music-themed poetry, creative nonfiction, flash fiction, and short stories that pertain to Paris.
We want stories set in and around the nation’s more often overlooked locales—isolated small towns, remote reservations, bedroom communities, and other underrepresented areas of Canada.
We might like to perhaps see instances of indecisions, or things that might or could or should have been. We might also like to see things that maybe happened, or maybe didn’t happen, or maybe will or perhaps could never happen. Send us whatever you maybe come up with!

This issue seeks to hold space for the “ugly feelings” we are often told to tame, to clean up, and to quiet: our rage, our annoyance, our frustration. We aim to honor the wisdom of unruly emotions.

Our themes are always open to far-fetched interpretations and are not limited to a narrow definition. Don't hold back, surprise us by submitting your finest work!
Where is home? Is it a place, a feeling, a kinship with a group of people, or your mother’s heart?
We’re looking for poems rich and robust in language, technique, and form that pay homage to the natural world and all of the small marvels that occur in nature. We’re also interested in poems that observe geography and the landscape of home.
Laughter is the best medicine. We are looking for stories about something that happened to you in your life that made you and the people around you laugh out loud. We can't wait to hear your true stories. We want them to be silly, outrageous and hilarious, and they absolutely must make us laugh!
