Our June Competition is now open with\u00a0 a closing date of 30th June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Prizes in the June competition are:-<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a01st Prize<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a3200,\u00a02nd Prize<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a3100,\u00a03rd Prize<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a350<\/strong><\/p>\n

The entry fee is \u00a36 and the fee for a critique is \u00a314.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We now offer a Proof Reading Service<\/strong><\/p>\n

If this is your first competition entry or if you are concerned about the presentation of your story do read our writing tips and our guides to on the Story Presentation Page, before submitting your entry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Competition Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Entries must be a fictional short story of up to 2000 words on any theme.<\/p>\n

2. Entries must be on A4, double spaced and page numbered with the title on each page..<\/p>\n

3. All entries must be the original work of the Author, must not have been published\u00a0before<\/strong>\u00a0the date of submission and must be accompanied by\u00a0the author’s name, address and telephone number which must be included on a separate page or within\u00a0 the body of the e mail<\/strong><\/p>\n

4. The Author’s name must not appear as a title or in the body of any page other than the author information page.<\/p>\n

5. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.<\/p>\n

6. Do keep a copy of your entry, manuscripts cannot be returned.<\/p>\n

7. The judges\u2019 view is final and no correspondence will be entered into in connection with the award of the prizes.<\/p>\n

8. Prize Winning Stories will be published on this site.<\/p>\n

9. Entries may be made by E mail as a\u00a0Word<\/strong>\u00a0document\u00a0\u00a0(pdfs cannot be accepted)<\/strong>, or by post.<\/p>\n

10. Winning entrants will be offered the opportunity to have their stories included in an Henshaw anthology.\u00a0 It is intended to produce our next anthology when there have been sufficient prize winning stories.<\/p>\n

11. Receipt of all entries will be acknowledged by e-mail or by post where no e-mail address is available.\u00a0Please remember to check your Junk Box.<\/strong><\/p>\n

12. Entrants must be aged over sixteen. If you are sixteen or under do have a look at our Young Writers page.<\/p>\n

Each entry by post must be accompanied by a cheque for \u00a36\u00a0payable to G. Jennings<\/strong>\u00a0and sent to:<\/p>\n
