Riptide invites short story writers to pause and write a story inspired by the theme of our next issue, BREATH.\u00a0 Whether it\u2019s pressed out or held beyond endurance, bated or panted, BREATH animates our next issue. From the first breath to the last one, or any of those in between, we want to see where the theme will take you.<\/p>\n

\u2018All things share the same breath \u2014 the beast, the tree, the man. The air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.\u2019\u00a0\u2013 Chief Seattle<\/strong><\/p>\n

Guidelines for Submissions<\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/figure>\n
Stories \u2013 up to 3500 words \u2013 one submission only.<\/figure>\n
Email your submissions with \u2018BREATH\u2019 in the subject line and a brief bio (ca. 100 words) to:\u00a0riptide@exeter.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0 Submissions must be in Microsoft Word and sent as an attachment.<\/p>\n
