At Paddler Press, we are outdoors people and our site pages are named accordingly to canoe trip lingo. The\u00a0Put In<\/em>\u00a0is where the trip begins. The\u00a0Trip Log\u00a0<\/em>is a reminder of where we\u2019ve been, the details of\u00a0The Journey<\/em>.\u00a0The Portage<\/em>\u00a0is where we get out of our boats, stretch our legs, and carry our junk to the next put in.\u00a0The Campfire<\/em>\u00a0is where we drink coffee, tell stories (for the umpteenth time), laugh, and many time, just sit and reflect.<\/p>\n

Volume 6\u2019s theme is\u00a0Changes<\/strong><\/em>. This issue will be released in October, when many of us will be putting the summer things away and embracing the crisp fall air, early frosts, and beautiful colours. Changes can be physical or philosophical, real or imagined. What are changes to you?<\/p>\n

All work should reflect the theme of\u00a0Changes\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>as you interpret it. If you\u2019re not sure, please send it in anyway. We\u2019d love to read your work.<\/p>\n

Submission Guidelines<\/h4>\n

Submission guidelines are pretty straightforward. Please read, Especially #2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Please submit up to five original poems in one .docx or PDF file attached to your email. We are looking for poems that are not overly long, and would also enjoy and encourage micro-poetry. If you\u2019re not sure, send it along anyway. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but let us know if your work is picked up elsewhere (and huge congratulations!). Poems should be previously unpublished. Poems appearing on your personal blog or social media are fine, though we\u2019d love to be able to share brand new works with the world.\u00a0Include a third-person bio of 100 words or so. Please limit your recent publications to three or four. Include social media handles if you\u2019d like and we\u2019ll support you online.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Send your work to\u00a0paddler@canoeideas.ca<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Please use\u00a0last name \u2013 submission<\/em>\u00a0as the subject and the name of your document. This makes finding your work in our downloads folder much easier. Really. Please. I beg of you.<\/strong>\u00a0Why won\u2019t people do this?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
