It is awarded annually to an unpublished piece of prose or poetry which best combines exceptional literary merit with an exploration of the writer\u2019s relationship with the natural world.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Each year a single judge is asked to choose one winner from entries worldwide, to feature in the winter issue of <em>The Moth<\/em>. The winner receives \u20ac1,000 and a week at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.circleofmisse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Circle of Misse<\/a>\u00a0in France. The inaugural judge in 2020 was Richard Mabey.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: large;\">HOW TO ENTER<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Moth Nature Writing Prize is open to anyone over 16, as long as the work is original and previously unpublished. There is a 4,000 maximum word limit. The entry fee is \u20ac15 per entry and you can enter as many pieces as you like.You can\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.themothmagazine.co.uk\/mothnature\/story1.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enter online<\/a>\u00a0or send your entry along with a cheque or postal order made payable to \u2018The Moth Magazine Ltd.\u2019 with an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.themothmagazine.com\/a1-page.asp?ID=8539&amp;page=27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">entry form<\/a>\u00a0or a cover letter with your name and contact details and the title of your piece attached to: The Moth, Ardan Grange, Milltown, Belturbet, Co.
