2023 Prize Online Anthology<\/h3>\n

We\u2019re delighted to announce the brand new annual\u00a0West<\/em>Word Prize in which all winning and shortlisted stories will be published in the online anthology edition of\u00a0West<\/em>Word.<\/p>\n

Winners in each category will be chosen by the WestWord editorial team and will receive a cash prize.<\/p>\n

PRIZE ENTRY RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Submit stories written in English\u00a0through Submittable using the button above\u00a0by 23.59 GMT on the deadline date (sorry late entries will not be included). Please use a clear font of at least size 12 so that we can read it easily!<\/li>\n
  • Please use the name of your story as your Submission title and the document you upload.<\/li>\n
  • Do not include your name on the story document or submission title\u00a0<\/strong>but provide a short bio as requested in the submission form. All stories are read anonymously so any showing the author\u2019s name will be disqualified.<\/li>\n
  • Please include the word count at the start or end of the story document.<\/li>\n
  • Stories must be your own\u00a0original work and not have been published online or in print, or have won any other competitions<\/strong>\u00a0(longlisted and shortlisted in other competitions is fine if the story remains unpublished).<\/li>\n
  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed but if your story wins a prize or is\u00a0published prior to the winner\u2019s announcement your entry will become ineligible. No refunds of entry fees will be paid.<\/li>\n
  • By entering the competition you agree to your story being published\u00a0in the winners\u2019 online anthology.<\/li>\n
  • Stories can be in any genre apart from children\u2019s fiction.<\/li>\n
  • You can enter as many times as you like\u00a0but all entries must be made separately and the entry fee paid each time.<\/li>\n
  • The judge\u2019s decision is final.<\/li>\n
  • There will be a launch event for the anthology of winners and cash prizes will be paid on publication of the anthology.<\/li>\n
  • Cash prize payments will be made through PayPal or via BACS.<\/li>\n
  • There is no alternative prize.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
