Theme: &#8220;Refuge&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Submission Guidelines<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Submissions for Journal Seven are open<br \/>\n<\/strong>Our Theme is REFUGE\u2026<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">\nRefuge.<br \/>\nShelter from the Storm.<\/p>\n<p>Refuge is where you take stock, assess the damage, treat your blisters, or finally get some sleep. It\u2019s also where you might be a refugee, dependent on the kindness of strangers, stripped of everything, caught in the middle (but you don\u2019t have to live like a refugee!).<\/p>\n<p>Muleskinner Journal has been on the road for a year and a half, and we are weather-worn but wiser, certainly more aware of the rugged and gentle beauty around us, and happy and grateful to have all of you on the long journey with us.<\/p>\n<p>Send us your poems and stories about refuge:\u00a0 where it was, where you expect\u00a0to find it, what it\u2019s like to get there, to live there, how it turns if you stay too long, and what it\u2019s like to leave.\u00a0 Your truth is safe here, and your safety is true here.\u00a0 Your hope is alive and well.<\/p>\n<p>And, as always, interpret as you wish.<br \/>\nThis place of refuge is open now, through July 1.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What we are looking for\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">Muleskinner Journal accepts previously unpublished work only. Please use the following word counts to select a category to submit. Send no more than one piece at a time, except where noted. Please submit in only one category at a time.<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Micro-Fiction: <\/strong> 25-50 words (1-3 pieces at a time)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Flash<\/strong>: max. 1000 words each (1-3 pieces at a time)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Short Story\/excerpts from longer work:<\/strong> max. 5000 words<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Creative Nonfiction:<\/strong> (max. 5000 words)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Poetry:<\/strong> Any length or form.
