This means we want your GHOST STORIES!<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Send us your traditional ghost stories, the ones that haunt and scare. Send us your unconventional ghost stories, the ones that make us rethink what a ghost story can be. We are open to your interpretation, so surprise us!<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Please put \u201c<strong>FLASH FROGTOBER \u2014 your story title<\/strong>\u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Please\u00a0<strong>do not<\/strong>\u00a0send us general submissions during this time. They will be returned unread. We will reopen for general submissions on\u00a0<strong>August 1st<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">All of the standard guidelines below still apply:<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">WRITERS:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">\n<li><em>Flash Frog<\/em>\u00a0publishes<strong>\u00a0flash fiction<\/strong>\u00a0only (no poetry or CNF please).<\/li>\n<li><strong>1,000<\/strong>\u00a0words maximum.<\/li>\n<li>Please\u00a0<strong>email<\/strong>\u00a0stories to flashfroglitmag@gmail.com.<\/li>\n<li>Please\u00a0<strong>attach<\/strong>\u00a0the story as .doc, .docx, or .rtf.<\/li>\n<li>Please use this format as the subject:<strong>\u00a0FLASH FROGTOBER \u2014 your story title<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Cover letters are okay, but\u00a0<strong>please do not explain\u00a0<\/strong>or set up your story. Let it speak for itself.<\/li>\n<li>Please do include a\u00a0<strong>third-person bio<\/strong>\u00a0(100 words max) in the body of the email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Simultaneous submissions<\/strong>\u00a0are encouraged, but please email to withdraw your piece as soon as it has been accepted elsewhere. We\u2019d love to congratulate you!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Multiple submissions<\/strong>\u00a0are not okay. Please send only one story at a time and wait until you hear back before sending another.<\/li>\n<li>All submissions should be the author\u2019s\u00a0<strong>original work<\/strong>\u00a0and not previously published elsewhere (this includes blogs, social media, etc.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Publication rights<\/strong>: We ask for the right to display the work for the duration of the journal.\u00a0Copyright remains with the writer in all cases. If your work is subsequently reprinted elsewhere, please acknowledge\u00a0<em>Flash Frog<\/em>\u00a0as the site of first publication.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Response time<\/strong>: Typically within a week, but occasionally longer. Please do not inquire about your submission until 2 months have passed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Payment<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>Flash Frog<\/em>\u00a0pays\u00a0<strong>$25<\/strong>\u00a0per story upon publication. Payments are issued via PayPal. To help ensure we can remain a paying market,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/flash-frog.com\/support\/\"><strong>please consider a small donation<\/strong><\/a>.
