An alarmingly individual spirit defines us. Achievement-oriented. Tales of those who struggle, risk everything, lose everything, gain it back\u2014and overcome. Confidence. Emotion. Our words fearlessly and unapologetically fascinate. Our process is challenging. Competitive. At least two editors give a story the \u201cthumbs up\u201d for publication.A story must speak to us, exemplify our aesthetic, and potentially\u00a0<em>delight\u00a0<\/em>readers<i>. <\/i>A tall order.<\/p>\n<p>We explore\u00a0<strong><em>intrepid culture:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>our stories feature danger elements, struggle, emotion, and\u00a0<em><strong>OVERCOMING.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>Our stories are\u00a0<em><strong>intrepid\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>first and not subordinated to other themes.\u00a0We love odd, quirky, experimental stories, and humor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A tip:<\/strong>\u00a0if we\u2019ve declined your submissions multiple times,\u00a0<em>please don\u2019t give up!<\/em> Keep trying.\u00a0But also, read our published stories to clarify what we mean by\u00a0<strong>intrepid culture<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go for the Gutsy!<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Submission Guidelines for Flash Fiction\u00a0<i>and<\/i>\u00a0Short Stories:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Flash Fiction 300 \u2013 1,000 words; Short Stories 1,500 \u2013 2,500 words\u00a0(firm).<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>Unpublished Work Only:<\/strong>\u00a0Story\u00a0<em>cannot<\/em>\u00a0be published anywhere online or publicly, including social media, community writing sites, or personal blogs, nor may work be\u00a0<strong>retitled\u00a0<\/strong>from said sites.
