The winner will receive $5,000 and publication. The inaugural Laura Boss Narrative Poetry Book Award will be given in 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\">Submission Guidelines<\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\">The submission period runs from <strong>January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022<\/strong> at 11:59 pm EST.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\"><strong>All submissions must be made electronically through <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/laurabosspoetryfoundation.submittable.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Submittable<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\">The submission fee is $25. This fee may be waived for entrants experiencing financial hardship. Email laurabosspoetryfoundation@gmail.com to request a fee waiver.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\">Submit up to 10 poems from the manuscript, not to exceed 10 pages total, with each poem starting on a new page. <strong>Do not include any identifying information on the submitted poems.<\/strong> The entries will be read blind, and any poems that contain identifying information will be discarded without being read and the submission fee will not be returned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\">Provide a cover letter with name, contact information, and a brief bio in the designated spaces on the Submittable form.<\/p>\n<p class=\"sqsrte-large\">Revision of sample submissions is not allowed during the submission period. You are welcome to withdraw and resubmit your sample, but the new submission will require an additional $25 entry fee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Semi-finalists will be announced June 1, 2022, and invited to submit full manuscripts (70-90 pages). All full manuscripts must be submitted by 11:59 pm July 31, 2022. Five finalists and the winner will be selected from the semi-finalist manuscripts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The winner of the Laura Boss Narrative Poetry Book Award receives the following:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Publication by New York Quarterly Books<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">25 author copies<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">$5,000 prize (not treated as an advance toward royalties)<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Reading in fall of 2022 in Paterson, NJ<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Five finalists will receive:<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">$100 prize<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Invitation to participate in the reading in September 2022 in Paterson, NJ<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">All entries will be read blind. The semifinalists and finalists will be chosen by a committee selected by the Laura Boss Poetry Foundation.
