The ability to move oneself towards future possibilities and potentials brings us to bridges, to principles of connection. Our current social and mental states can often seem to function on the premise of fragmentation, with past and present chaos always sweeping away a moment of coming together. The bridging of gaps and grounding in the wake instability is crucial to our personal, and collective, well-being. We’re looking for poetry that speaks about these fractures and uncertainties, and\/or about our abilities to overcome them, to build bridges.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our call is open to poems, essays, reviews, interviews, as well as audio or video peoms. Read more details on hot to submit through our\u00a0Submittable!<\/a><\/p>\n

Vallum<\/em>\u00a0is interested in original and previously unpublished work. Ideal submissions are well-crafted, fresh and edgy. We are committed to enriching and continuing the tradition of poetry in the present day. We welcome submissions that deepen our understanding of what poetry is and can be. We are open to most styles, whether experimental or traditional \u2013 though issues are usually put together with an underlying theme in mind, so not all poetry can be accepted, even if it is genius!<\/p>\n

Submission fee:<\/strong>\u00a0We charge a minimum fee of $3 per submission when submitting online. We use this fee to help cover reading fees and printing costs. Any donation of $10 or greater will be issued a charitable receipt. If this amount presents a barrier to your ability to submit, please contact\u00a0submission@vallummag.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable as long as submissions are withdrawn from Submittable in a timely manner. If your work has been published in our most recent issue, please wait one issue before submitting again, at which point we will be happy to consider more of your work<\/p>\n

Submissions are accepted through\u00a0Submittable only. We do not accept mailed submissions.<\/p>\n
