Submissions Call for Issue 17:\u00a0Found Things<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m Elliot, Guest Editor for the second Gentian issue of the academic year. This theme particularly resonates with me because I\u2019m fascinated by place and the way we engage with spatial meaning \u2013 we spend so much of our time in our own heads, consumed by the mundane, that we often forget to notice this physical world around us.<\/p>\n

How can poetry be located in place, object or function? This might be rooted in memory and nostalgia, or a constant present association that you have with the world. A poem can so often be masked in the material world, taking on the disguise of the accidental, functional, or instructive to do so.<\/p>\n

Submit your poems as an\u00a0attached Word document<\/strong>, not in the body of the email.<\/p>\n

You can submit up\u00a0three poems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Poems must be\u00a0no longer than 40 lines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Use a\u00a0standard typeface and 12pt. font<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Please put all poems on a new page and make your titles clear.<\/p>\n

We accept translations that have been properly credited.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
