Welcome to our first international poetry competition of 2024! We\u2019re looking for all kinds of nature poetry. You are welcome to submit anything from eco \/ environmental poetry to pastoral poetry. As always, we encourage you to bend the rules with both content and form\u2026<\/p>\n
Deadline for entry<\/strong>: July 31st 2024<\/p>\n There will be one prize winner. The winning poet will receive a prize of $100<\/strong>, plus publication of their poem as a standalone piece on Free the Verse. Payment will be made via bank transfer or PayPal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n The entry fee is $2.49<\/strong>, and you may submit 1 poem per entry. Multiple entries are permitted. All fees will be used toward our operating costs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n All entries must be original work that is owned by the entrant. We accept poems which have previously been published, and simultaneous submissions are permitted. We do not accept poems previously published in our magazine, Free the Verse.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n The winning poet will be notified by email within 1 month of the competition closing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n You will retain the copyright to your work. By entering the competition, you grant Free the Verse the right to publish your poem and name on our website and in any associated marketing materials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n This is an international competition \u2013\u00a0however, at this time, we only accept poems written in English.
