Climate Change Anthology Submissions<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Bronze Bird Books (www.bronzebirdbooks.com) is preparing a standalone anthology focused on climate change and related themes. We are especially interested in localized impacts. How has your community been affected by climate change? What might the future have in store for your region, according to the modeling or changes you\u2019ve witnessed firsthand?<\/p>\n

We will be accepting submissions\u00a0until\u00a0August 15th, 2024<\/u>.<\/b><\/p>\n

Our objective is to view this high-stakes global issue through a personal and localized lens, making the subject matter more relatable, thus inspiring change initiatives. This anthology will primarily include poetry, though we are also open to \u201ccli-fi,\u201d essays, or letters to future generations. Works addressing pollution or environmental degradation will also be considered. Beyond adverse impacts, we\u2019ll also consider literary works conveying a reverence for nature and sensitive ecologies.<\/p>\n

Publication Notes \/ FAQ:<\/p>\n

  • August 15th is the deadline for submissions.<\/li>\n
  • If your submission is accepted for publication, we will notify you by September 1st.\u00a0If you haven\u2019t heard from us by then, consider it a pass. (Since\u00a0email deliverability can be a complex ordeal with many variables, we recommend that you periodically check your spam folder in case we don\u2019t directly reach your inbox.)<\/li>\n
  • Submitted work should not have been previously published; needless to say, it should also be original, true to your experience, and not written entirely by a bot!<\/li>\n
  • We generally prefer poetry without complicated formatting. Longer lines of poetry don\u2019t always fit in our standard 6\u201d x 9\u201d trim size. If it\u2019s a prose poem, it\u2019s OK. Otherwise, anticipate that very long lines may spill over if you exceed 68 characters and consider rebalancing your line breaks.<\/li>\n
  • Stories and essays for this collection should not exceed 2,000 words.<\/li>\n
  • All submitted works should have titles. We include a table of contents and need to refer to your work in some way.<\/li>\n
  • Contributors grant First Publication Rights to\u00a0the Bronze Bird Books climate change anthology. All rights revert to the author after publication.\u00a0We will work to promote this collection and all contributors therein, with bios and promotional links included at the end of the manuscript.\u00a0All accepted contributors will receive a digital copy of the collection; the press does not have the resources to provide complimentary print copies.<\/li>\n
