SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/h2>\n

The Selkie is a non-profit run by volunteers. As such, we ask that you respect our editors\u2019 time and comply with the following guidelines:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

  • We read submissions blind.\u00a0Please make sure your submission does not include your name or other identifying details anywhere in the document.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Please use the following format when naming your document: \u201cTitle_prose\u201d or \u201cTitle_poetry\u201d (e.g. \u201cThe_Tell-Tale_Heart_prose\u201d). This makes it easier for us to make sure your submission reaches the right editor.<\/li>\n
  • The submission form requires you to provide a short author bio (up to 100 words) as well as any links to relevant social media accounts\/websites. Please have these ready before you start filling out the form. (Do\u00a0not\u00a0include these in the document itself \u2013 please use the dedicated field in the submission form for this.)<\/li>\n
  • All work should be previously unpublished both in print and online.<\/li>\n
  • Work should be submitted as a Google Doc via the submission form above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    POETRY SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/h5>\n

    Poetry submissions can consist of five poems at most, totalling no more than 120 lines. If you are submitting multiple poems, they should be submitted within a single Google Doc and clearly separated with titles.<\/p>\n

    When formatting your poems, keep in mind that they will be published on the website\/in digital form. If your work features experimental layouts, please make sure to also attach a PDF document so we can respect your formatting wishes, within reason.<\/p>\n

    PROSE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/h5>\n

    Prose submissions should be 3,000 words in length at most. Please only send us one prose submission per submission period.<\/p>\n

    We accept all genres.<\/p>\n
