“Compose.<\/span>” What does this word bring up for you? What needs to be composed? How do we compose? What happens when there is no composure? Are there moments we don’t need to compose (work, music, ourselves, etc)? In this US election year, what does compose mean? These are all just thoughts and questions. Surprise us by your own writing on these themes.<\/p>\n

Poetry & Creative Nonfiction Submission Guidelines<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

  1. \n

    Please send us\u00a01-3 poems\u00a0(one poem per page) or\u00a0one CNF\u00a0piece that is no more than 2,500 words (essay, journal entry, excerpt from a memoir or lager piece).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    We read and publish work that is in English only.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    We no longer take\u00a0previously published work so send us\u00a0what hasn’t appeared online or in print.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Work should be 12pt text; set in Courier, Arial, Times New Roman (CNF – double spaced)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    We pay attention to craft, ease, beauty, rawness of your writing. Are we inspired, moved? Is it thought provoking, surprising, inviting?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    We only take poems within the submission window and via\u00a0Duosuma<\/a>\u00a0through Duotrope (it’s free to set up an account).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    You will be notified the month following your submission. Feel free to make simultaneous submissions but let us know ASAP if what you sent us is selected elsewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    We believe a writer should have full control of their work, so all copyright and publication rights remain with the writer at all times. However, we appreciate exclusive publication rights for three months after the pie<\/span>ce<\/span>\u00a0has been published by us to ensure maximum impact.
