Colour is everywhere, and we want to see how you interpret and express it in your work. We welcome submissions from Canadian writers in various genres, including poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction\/reviews. We are also excited to share that this year, we will offer a $100 cash prize for the best submission. So don\u2019t be shy \u2013 send us your best work!<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t wait to see what colour means to you.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1n c1-1o c1-b c1-7b c1-2v c1-42 c1-7c\">General Guidelines\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1n c1-1o c1-b c1-7b c1-2v c1-1z c1-7c c1-7d\">The Fieldstone Review<\/em>\u00a0accepts electronic submissions only. Please send all submissions as attachments. Documents should be attached in .doc\/.docx format. However, .pdf is suitable for poems with unique formatting. Please submit visual art in .JPG format.<\/p>\n<p><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1n c1-1o c1-b c1-7b c1-2v c1-1z c1-7c c1-7d\">The Fieldstone Review<\/em>\u00a0practices blind reviewing. Please do not indicate your name or identifying information anywhere on the attachment containing your submission. Instead, please include the following\u00a0<em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1n c1-1o c1-b c1-7b c1-2v c1-1z c1-7c c1-7d\">in the body<\/em>\u00a0of your e-mail:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>full name<\/li>\n<li>contact information<\/li>\n<li>a biography of 50 to 100 words<\/li>\n<li>the title(s) of the work(s) submitted<\/li>\n<li>notification if the work is a simultaneous submission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Submissions should be formatted in 12pt Times New Roman font, and all submissions except for poetry should be double-spaced.<\/p>\n<p>An e-mail acknowledging the receipt of the work will be sent within seven business days during the reading period.<\/p>\n<p>Submissions received after the reading period has ended and works that exceed the word and\/or page limits listed in the appropriate categories will not be considered.<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1n c1-1o c1-b c1-7b c1-2v c1-42 c1-7c\">Genre Guidelines\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>FICTION: One submission per author to a max of 5,000 words.<\/p>\n<p>POETRY: One submission per author to a max of six pages, sent as a single attachment.<\/p>\n<p>NONFICTION: One submission per author to a max of 2,500 words, OR two submissions to a max of 1,000 words each.<\/p>\n<p>REVIEWS: Responses to works published in the last two years (fiction, poetry, film, etc.) to a max of 2000 words. Submit a pitch first of one short paragraph, including what content your review will explore, why, and estimated word count.<\/p>\n<p>Authors may submit to more than one category if they adhere to the above guidelines.
