Theme: Handle and Spout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Let&#8217;s sing!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our theme for Journal Fourteen is<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Handle and Spout<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><em>Here is my handle.<\/em>\u00a0My trucker name. The thing we hold onto. The thing the vandals broke. The\u00a0<em>it<\/em> we take care of. Here be the agent, the trainer, the mechanic, the event planner, the bannister and the potholder. The people and things that make it happen, or won\u2019t let it happen. The neighbor who plows the snow when you need to get away.<\/p>\n<p><em>And here is my spout.<\/em>\u00a0My rant. My rap. My man-splaining. The device that lets us neatly pour the hot water over the tea bag without burning our hand or missing the cup. The thing that allows for the flow. And the flow itself. Hands-free and handle-free.<\/p>\n<p>For Journal 14, we embrace the idea that there are two kinds of people in the workplace, in government, and in your life \u2013 those who\u00a0<em>handle<\/em>. And those who\u00a0<em>spout<\/em>. We love them both. We also embrace the teapot, the Neti pot, and the melting pot. The handles and the handlers. The spout and the pour. Working Separately. Working together. Helping you quench and helping you breathe.<\/p>\n<p>For Journal 14, take any piece of this, and send us your creation.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be pouring until June 15.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What we are looking for\u2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">Muleskinner Journal accepts previously unpublished work only. Please use the following word counts to select a category to submit. Submit in only one category. Send no more than one submission per issue.<\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Poetry:<\/strong> Any length or form.
