Call for Submissions: Poems About Work<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Book of Jobs: An Anthology of Poems About Work\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>(Online)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

How to Submit:<\/strong>\u00a0Email up to three poems of (up to 150 lines each)\u00a0in the body of an email<\/strong>\u00a0to:<\/p>\n

Please also\u00a0include a 3rd<\/sup>-person bio<\/strong>\u00a0of up to 50 words.<\/p>\n

Anticipated anthology publication date:<\/strong>\u00a0Fall 2025<\/p>\n

Fee\/payment:<\/strong>\u00a0No submission fee. Contributors to receive a $10 honorarium per accepted poem (thanks to a donation from an anonymous donor). The anthology will be available online at no cost to readers.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0Previously unpublished poems are preferred (though it\u2019s fine if you have shared them on personal sites, including social media). We will consider poems that have been published in literary journals if the rights have reverted to the poet; please indicate this in your submission. Simultaneous submissions are permitted; please reply to your own emailed submission to let us know if your work has been accepted elsewhere.<\/p>\n

What We\u2019re Looking For:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Poems about all types of labor (industrial, agricultural, corporate, healthcare, domestic, creative, hospitality, caregiving, education, sports, and other fields of work).<\/p>\n

\u2022 A variety of styles: narrative, persona, documentary, formal, experimental, erasure, cento, abecedarian, prose poems, etc.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Serious poems, funny poems, seriously funny poems<\/p>\n

\u2022 While we welcome poems about your own work experiences, we hope you\u2019ll also consider submitting poems about the work of others, including family members, historical figures, or people you\u2019ve observed, interviewed, or researched.<\/p>\n
