Theme: Reflection and Growth<\/p>\n

You are not an inanimate object, but a human. Full of hope, joy, pain, struggle, sadness, love, yearning. Your existence is precious and not guaranteed.<\/p>\n

It is easy to work or worry yourself into the ground, buried by rock after rock, weight after weight, of the world’s mighty problems. If you do not give yourself time to be\u2026 you. To nourish that which is yourself, it can disappear or become but a faded perspective of you.
\nFor those views that you want to cherish and keep, reflect often. Be conscious of who you are and what it is to be comfortable in your own skin, even when that means being comfortable with the feeling of being uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

You are only human. You may feel torn or pulled between perspectives and ideal outcomes. Let that feeling flow through you. That feeling, of letting yourself feel uncomfortable, but accepting it as okay and not needing to pass judgment: that is growth.<\/p>\n

Consider this feeling and how your writing helps you feel more connected to yourself.<\/p>\n

For this edition, send us something that makes you reflect and represents your growth. Share your vision. Write about the power of knowing oneself. Whatever strikes your fancy. You may submit 2 poems or short stories in each category.<\/p>\n

Two submissions per writer of no longer<\/strong> than 1000 words at this time for a maximum of four submissions. You can submit multiple pieces in the same entry.<\/p>\n

Include Biography<\/p>\n

  • Always include a third-person author\/artist\/professional bio. The bio should be at least 1-2 sentences and up to\u00a050 words. 450-500 characters\u00a0maximum<\/strong>. More extended bios will not be accepted.<\/li>\n
  • We will publish the bio, your pronouns, and links to your social media that you include.<\/li>\n
  • We reserve the right to make grammatical changes while copyediting, but you will get to approve the final version.<\/li>\n
  • Country of origin or the country that you identify with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
