What do you hunger for?<\/p>\n

In this issue, we want writing that devours. We\u2019re talking about the kind of cravings that keep you up at night: for touch, for power, for memory, for something you can\u2019t name. Appetite isn\u2019t just physical\u2014it\u2019s emotional, existential, maybe even dangerous.<\/p>\n

This theme isn\u2019t just about food, though we welcome your feasts and rituals. It\u2019s about the want that lingers, the desire that warps, the need that cannot be tamed. Characters who want too much. Or not enough. Narrators who deny themselves until they snap.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re interested in the thin line between indulgence and survival. Between love and addiction.<\/p>\n

We dare you to get messy.<\/p>\n

Submissions<\/h1>\n<\/header>\n

Blood & Bourbon is here to showcase\u00a0all things hard, gritty, and raw. That time you got in a bar fight, that time you went to an S&M club, that time you had an opinion that sparked a heated argument over a family dinner.\u00a0We\u2019re actively seeking submissions in the following categories:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Short fiction or non-fiction, 5000 words or fewer<\/li>\n
  • Opinion pieces or essays on any subjects, 5000 words or fewer<\/li>\n
  • Poetry, up to three pieces per submission<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We accept simultaneous submissions and reprints. We provide author copies upon request with a small donation of $5.<\/p>\n

    We are now open for submissions until August 2, 2025. The theme of the next issue is Appetite.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    We\u2019re interested in diverse voices and want to hear from you regardless of what you look like, where you\u2019re from, what you believe, who you like to fuck, et cetera.<\/p>\n

    Send your material to bandbsubmissions (AT) gmail.com. Your submission should be attached as a .doc, .docx or .rtf file, with your name, address, email address, the story title (if applicable) and total word count at the top of the first page. Visual art submissions should be attached as hi-res .jpgs or .tiffs.
