This Issue&#8217;s Theme: Faux"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>We seek original submissions in multiple genres for the &#8220;Faux&#8221; issue. Do know that themes are not to be taken literally. We encourage submitters to simply have fun with the theme, or ignore it entirely.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>SUBMISSION GUIDELINES &#8211; PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Writers:<\/strong>\u00a0Writing submissions should be works of poetry and short prose no longer than 1500 words in length,<br \/>\n8000 words for short fiction and essays, 1200 words for flash and microfiction.<\/p>\n<p>Please only send CLEAN COPY.\u00a0<em>We do not edit copy.<\/em><br \/>\nIf a work is accepted for publication, it appears letter-for-letter as submitted.<br \/>\nSubmissions with obvious typographic errors will be rejected.<br \/>\n<strong>We reserve the right to format copy to our layout standards.<\/strong><em><br \/>\nPlease also note that due to tight deadline and printing timelines,<br \/>\nrevisions likely will not be even possible after a work is accepted.<br \/>\n<strong>Therefore, please only submit works you&#8217;re fully confident in having published.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>All writing should be sent as an editable document,\u00a0 ideally Microsoft Word Format (.doc or .docx,) or RTF.<br \/>\nBe aware that any formatting you use in your document will be changed to fit our layout specifications.<br \/>\nDon&#8217;t get fancy unless you have something that is required for the piece (such as special formatting for a poem.)<br \/>\nWe STRONGLY encourage very general formatting for most written work.<br \/>\nYour font\u00a0<strong>will<\/strong>\u00a0be changed, we don&#8217;t use indents for paragraph breaks, and we will re-format as needed.<br \/>\nPlease keep the formatting simple.<br \/>\nSee below, as well.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Embedded images in a text document might lead to rejection, due to difficulty in layout.<br \/>\nIf you feel you must have embedded images, please email us before submitting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT: PDF is NOT an acceptable file format,\u00a0<\/strong>except for the rare case of a work depending strictly on physical formatting and font(s).<br \/>\n<strong>Please email us FIRST if you want to submit a PDF for a text piece.<\/strong><br \/>\n(WHEN IN DOUBT, DON&#8217;T SEND PDF UNLESS YOU&#8217;RE ABSOLUTELY SURE THE TEXT MUST BE IN A STRICT FORMAT.<br \/>\nThis basically means, if you&#8217;re using unusual fonts and\/or formatting that is absolutely critical to the piece.)<\/p>\n<p>SO:<br \/>\n<strong>DISCLAIMER: We shall still reserve the right to reformat PDF submissions to fit our layout standards.<br \/>\nSubmitting as PDF is not an assurance that we will print the item as it looks in the PDF. Additionally, if we are forced to re-format from a PDF we will not be responsible for errors in the format conversion.<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you have questions about this policy regarding your work, please contact us via email before submitting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Must include a\u00a0<em>third-person<\/em> bio, 100 words maximum. <\/strong><em>Pronoun preferences are encouraged!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>No<\/strong>\u00a0submitting written work via email or a file transfer service unless requested. Please use Duosumo.<\/p>\n<p>Due to time constraints, physical submissions via regular mail will NOT be considered for inclusion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simultaneous submissions are accepted<\/strong>\u00a0as long as the submitter notifies us IMMEDIATELY\u00a0 upon their work being accepted elsewhere. The best way to notify us of a piece accepted elsewhere when submitting\u00a0 through Duosuma is to\u00a0<strong>immeditely withdraw the piece<\/strong>. There is no assurance we will know it is withdrawn unless<br \/>\nyou withdraw it directly through Duosuma. Email is inadaquate for withdrawls for Duosuma submissions.<br \/>\nIf we accept a submission, it\u00a0<strong>will<\/strong>\u00a0be printed. Our timeline is so tight that there is no other option.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note: you are free to withdraw a piece for\u00a0<strong>any<\/strong>\u00a0reason via Duosuma\u00a0\u00a0<strong>unless we have accepted it for publication<\/strong>.
