Please read these guidelines thoroughly before submitting to\u00a0<\/strong>Lunch Ticket<\/strong><\/em>. Submissions that do not adhere to our guidelines will not be considered.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Poetry Submission Guidelines:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Please submit to\u00a0Lunch Ticket<\/em>\u00a0only\u00a0once<\/strong>\u00a0per submission reading period (regardless of genre).<\/li>\n
  • If your work has been published in\u00a0Lunch Ticket<\/em>, please skip one submission reading period before submitting again.<\/li>\n
  • All submissions at\u00a0Lunch Ticket\u00a0<\/em>are read anonymously in the first round.\u00a0We only read pieces that have all identifying information removed.<\/strong>\u00a0Make sure\u00a0no identifying information<\/strong>\u00a0exists in the\u00a0document title<\/strong>,\u00a0submission title<\/strong>, or\u00a0the work<\/strong>\u00a0itself. Identifying information (such as names and bios) can only be included in the cover letter, and not in any attached files or the submission title.<\/li>\n
  • We allow simultaneous submissions. Please indicate in your cover letter that this is a simultaneous submission, and if your piece is accepted elsewhere, you must notify us immediately.<\/li>\n
  • We do not accept previously published work (this includes work published in personal blogs or social media).<\/li>\n
  • We do not accept AI-generated work.<\/li>\n
  • Submitters must be 18 years of age or older.<\/li>\n
  • All submitters are added to our bi-monthly newsletter email subscriber list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Submit\u00a0up to 3<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0poems\u00a0<\/strong>per cycle. Submit all poems in the same document.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • We recognize that poetry often calls for its own particular formatting. When in doubt, use 12-pt Times New Roman font.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Fiction:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
        \n
      • All prose must be double-spaced in 12-pt Times New Roman font.<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Submissions should not exceed 3,500 words<\/strong>\u00a0(source text not included in the word count).<\/li>\n
      • If your piece is 750 words and under, please submit it to the Flash Prose category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Flash Prose:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
          \n
        • All prose must be double-spaced in 12-pt Times New Roman font.<\/strong><\/li>\n
        • Submit\u00a0<\/strong>one<\/strong><\/u> flash piece per cycle. We only accept prose that is 750 words or less. (If your piece is 751 to 3,500 words, please submit it to Creative Nonfiction or Fiction.)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Creative Nonfiction:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
