Theme for Issue 9: Trouble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You\u2019re in. Stay out of. If it isn\u2019t too much. Get in good.\u00a0<strong>Trouble\u00a0<\/strong>is the prompt for Issue 9. Send us your creative nonfiction (&lt;2500 words), troubling or not, but please, no cruelty to animals\u2026and, come to think of it, no wolves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The important stuff\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We only accept\u00a0<strong>original, unpublished<\/strong>\u00a0work. If your work has already appeared in The Woolf, please wait\u00a0<strong>two<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>issues<\/strong>\u00a0before submitting again.<\/li>\n<li>Only work sent through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/duotrope.com\/duosuma\/submit\/the-woolf-1c78X\"><strong>official submission platform<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will be considered.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No name<\/strong>\u00a0or identifying information should appear on the piece you\u2019re submitting (we review the work blind).<\/li>\n<li>Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but please withdraw your work pronto if it has been accepted elsewhere (and if so, congrats!).<\/li>\n<li>Submissions are and will remain free. While submitting, you\u2019re welcome to toss something into our tip jar to help us offset expenses \u2013 it\u2019s always appreciated.<\/li>\n<li>While we can\u2019t pay contributors at this time, we promise to promote your pieces once the issue goes live and nominate the best work for international awards where we can. (In fact,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thewoolfx.com\/before-she-was-my-mother\/\">this micro<\/a>\u00a0from Issue 1 was selected for the Best Microfiction 2022 anthology.)<\/li>\n<li>Despite our name, any reference to wolves or Virginia Woolf could raise our hackles \u2013 so proceed with caution.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, please don\u2019t send us work that makes us question our faith in this already fragile world \u2013 stuff that\u2019s gratuitously sexual, overly violent, discriminatory, vile or just kind of morally repugnant.
