We\u2019re open for submissions! The theme of our next issue is\u00a0TIME.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Isn’t it fascinating to think about the concept of time? It’s unique in the sense that all of us have the same amount of time in a day. But as you know all too well, some people just seem to know how to make better use of it than others. At times, it feels like you need more than 24 hours to get everything done. And during those fleeting moments when you clear your mind, you realize that you’re in an endless race against time.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the best way to appreciate the value of time is to slow down. The clock will continue ticking, but being mindful of every second allows you to identify the people, things, and activities that deserve most of your time.<\/p>\n

And while you’re at it, you might want to listen to timeless hits, many of which are actually songs about time. There are tons of songs with time in their titles, and it’s interesting to dissect the distinctive message of each song. Some of them serve as reminders to take things easy and treasure what truly makes us happy. Others talk about how time is the only cure for the most painful wounds. Still, some songs simply tell us to live in the moment.<\/p>\n

General Submission Guidelines: FERAL: A Journal of Poetry & Art<\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve made some changes to our guidelines so please read all the information below.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What we are looking for: We want your brave, your pain, your love, your teeth, your howling beast. All styles, forms and schools of poetry are welcome.
\nPlease note that at the core of both FERAL and Animal Heart press is love. Although we wish it didn\u2019t need to be said, we will not accept any work that is racist, homophobic, sexist or discriminatory. We are committed to publishing a variety of new, emerging and established voices. Further, we are committed to inclusion and equity in publishing. We highly encourage submissions from underrepresented voices including, but not limited to: women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent individuals. International submissions are welcome, but we are only considering work in English at this time; no translations.
\nFERAL nominates for the Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize.<\/p>\n

\nCover Letters: We\u2019ve heard you loud and clear about how daunting many of you find writing cover letters, so they are no longer required.
\nIf you want to include a cover letter we\u2019d like to know a little about you (this is not your bio but rather an introduction to you as a human\/poet\/artist).\u00a0At a minimum, in the body of your email, please provide your name and preferred pronouns.<\/p>\n
