For 2022 the title chosen is \u2018<em>Spring Picture<\/em>\u2018,\u00a0this was the title\u00a0of one of du Maurier\u2019s lesser-known novels, published in 1944. Hopefully, this\u00a0title will inspire all you budding authors to write with a sense of optimism after the difficult period which forced us to cancel the 2020 and 2021 Festivals (but not the short story competitions). Entries must be no more than 1500 words and must include the title but its interpretation is entirely up to you!<\/p>\n<p>The competition is open to all those over 16 years of age, by the opening day of the Festival, May 6th, 2022. There will be a first prize of \u00a3200 and a second prize of \u00a3100. The maximum length of submissions is 1,500 words. If exceeding that the entry will be disallowed. There is no minimum length. Stories must have the title \u201cSpring Picture\u201d and are welcome in any prose style.<\/p>\n<p>PLEASE EMAIL ENTRIES TO chris@foweyfestival.com<br \/>\nPLEASE SEND POSTAL ENRIES TO: Du Maurier Festival Short Story Prize, 6, St Fimbarrus Road, Fowey, PL23<br \/>\n1JJ Cornwall. <strong>(Email entries preferred. If posting your entry must be received no later than 20 February 2022).<\/strong><br \/>\nEach postal submission must be accompanied by an entry form which may be downloaded from the website<\/p>\n<p>Authors may enter once only and entries will not be returned. Please keep a copy. No corrections or alterations can be made after receipt.\u00a0Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been previously published, in print or<br \/>\nonline (including websites, blogs, social network sites), or broadcast or been commended, long-listed or<br \/>\nshort-listed in another writing competition.
