The move to online has allowed for some new opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span>During this moment of challenge and change, we have had to suspend payment to writers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><strong>Chance Encounters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\">We move through our lives trying to control our destinies, to fulfill our ambitions and pursue our dreams. Yet often an unexpected meeting, a trivial accident, a coincidence of events or timing brings unplanned opportunity, unprepared-for challenges, desperate struggles, unanticipated rewards, flashes of joy or self-discovery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8\"><span class=\"wixGuard\">\u200b<\/span>These chance encounters can change our lives profoundly, alter the course of our future. Call these encounters fate, luck, serendipity, or divine intervention\u2014they upend our carefully laid plans, set us on a new and different path, leave us with lasting consequences and knowledge we never sought but\u2014for better or worse\u2014can never unlearn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Poetry:<\/strong>\u00a0Submit a maximum of three poems, typed single-spaced, justified left, saved in a single document.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fiction:<\/strong> Fiction should be a maximum of 25 double-spaced, single-sided pages in 12-point font, no extra spaces between paragraphs and all pages numbered\u2014or about 7,000 words.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flash:<\/strong> Please be sure to mark entry as <strong>flash fiction, micro essay or prose poem<\/strong>.\u00a0You may include up to three flash pieces in a single file.
