For our special charitable fundraising “Invasion of Ukraine” themed issue, a donation of at least five dollars per submission will be expected.\u00a0 Under normal circumstances, there is no fee to submit, but these are not normal circumstances.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

One hundred percent of all funds raised will be donated to the Medecins Sans Frontieres aka Doctors Without Borders Emergency Relief Fund in support of its mission of mercy in the war-torn country of Ukraine\u00a0https:\/\/www.doctorswithoutborders.org\/what-we-do\/countries\/ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What We Publish:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Poetry:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0We publish quality poetry of any genre and length congruent with our themes, including traditional poems, form poems, prose poems, and narrative poems.\u00a0We will not consider general submissions for our special charitable fundraising “Invasion of Ukraine” themed issue.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

What We Pay:\u00a0 No honoraria will be paid for publication in our\u00a0<\/b>special charitable fundraising “Invasion of Ukraine” themed issue.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>Songs of Eretz will donate its entire honoraria budget to the cause.<\/p>\n

HOW TO SUBMIT<\/b><\/p>\n

Failure to follow these simple guidelines will result in your submission being discarded or returned to you unread!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please resist the urge to include anything with your submission that we do not specifically request<\/strong>,\u00a0especially your bio (we like to read as blindly as possible), credits (we treat the novice and the experienced equally), or explanatory notes (if you believe your poem or work of art requires an explanation, please revise it until it doesn’t).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Note:\u00a0 Before submitting to our special charitable fundraising “Invasion of Ukraine” issue, make your donation of at least five dollars using\u00a0PayPal.com<\/a>\u00a0with Donations@SongsOfEretz.com as the receiving address.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>If you are submitting more than one poem, each poem should appear in a separate email, and each email should include a separate cover letter.\u00a0 <\/strong>If your poem has multiple numbered sections, each section will “count” as ONE poem. \u00a0If your poem contains more than three sections, query first.<\/p>\n

Your poem(s) must appear in the body of your email(s). \u00a0WE DO NOT ACCEPT ATTACHMENTS FOR POETRY.\u00a0\u00a0If your poem needs to be presented in an attachment due to special formatting, query first.<\/p>\n

Include a cover letter in the body of your email(s) with answers to the following questions:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0What is your contact information?\u00a0\u00a0Include at least your city & state. \u00a0Include your country if you reside outside of the United States. \u00a0It is strongly recommended that you include your phone number as well, in case we need last-minute input from you (this has happened).<\/p>\n

Due to the anticipated high volume of submissions, no editorial feedback will be provided for submissions to our special charitable fundraising “Invasion of Ukraine” themed issue.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reprint Policy:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0We\u00a0DO NOT\u00a0accept previously published work.<\/p>\n

Simultaneous Submissions Policy:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0We accept sim subs.<\/p>\n

Multiple Submissions Policy:\u00a0<\/strong> Please wait until after your poem(s) is\/are published in or rejected by Songs of Eretz before sending more.<\/p>\n

Response Time:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Please query if you have not received at least a preliminary response in twenty-one\u00a0<\/strong>calendar days.<\/p>\n

Rights To Your Poetry: <\/strong>\u00a0If your work is accepted and you agree to join the ranks of the other fine poets who have been published in Songs of Eretz Poetry\u00a0Review,<\/em>\u00a0your work will appear in the quarterly issue for which it was submitted. \u00a0In exchange, you will grant Songs of Eretz first worldwide publication rights, first worldwide electronic rights, non-exclusive archival rights in perpetuity, non-exclusive anthology rights in perpetuity, and\u00a0exclusive reprint rights for Songs of Eretz art sales in perpetuity.<\/p>\n

All other rights will revert to you upon publication, but we would appreciate the courtesy of allowing Songs of Eretz an exclusive for a few months if that is not too much trouble. \u00a0We also expect to be acknowledged as the venue of first publication should you reprint your work.<\/p>\n
