PFN – Blood Tree Literature Seeks Submissions With the Theme “The Body”

GENERAL SUBMISSIONS

Blood Tree Literature favors lyrical pieces that do not withhold depth or resonance. With that in mind, submit to us your best, the box under your bed marked UNSHARABLE, the orphan poem or black sheep fiction. Send us your experimentals; be vulnerable, be calculated.

Please note that we don’t typically gravitate toward work that is Y.A. in nature. We do not read reprints nor manuscripts at this time. Submissions are processed through Submittable only. Simultaneous submissions are allowed under the condition that you withdraw your work immediately if it is accepted elsewhere. Please do not submit more than once per genre until you’ve heard back on your pending submission. We publish two issues per year, in June and December.

Maximum word count: 2500. We’d like to keep it flash-y. Maximum pieces of poetry per submission: 3.

ISSUE 12 – THE BODY ISSUE

Blood Tree Literature is all fired up to announce the theme for our 2022 contest: bodily autonomy.

  • Entry fee is $9

  • First Place prize is $75, Second Place is $50, and Third Place is $25 (awarded via PayPal only)

  • Submissions open on July 30, 2022 and close on November 1, 2022

  • Winners will be notified by November 15, 2022

  • Issue 12 will debut December 1, 2022

A portion of the contest proceeds will be donated to a pro-choice organization. Details forthcoming.
