Our Theme was GRACE…
Our theme for Journal 8 is a difficult ask in a violent and weary world. It is grace.
Do your best.
Grace is benevolence, both to give and to receive.
To be full of grace is to move with ease and charm.
It is to flow like water.
There is grace under pressure and grace under fire. Grace is cousin to courage.
Grace is hope and salvation. It is also bought and sold, a commodity of kindness.
There are good graces and bad graces, dis-grace, and falls from grace.
Grace is humility, charm, a blessing for a meal, the yearning not to be loved, but to love.
Muleskinner Journal opens Journal 8 with grace in our hearts.
Your grace period begins on July 20, and runs through September 20
What we are looking for…
Muleskinner Journal accepts previously unpublished work only. Please use the following word counts to select a category to submit. Send no more than one piece at a time, except where noted. Please submit in only one category at a time.

We don’t care who you are, as long as you are the author of what you submit.
