The theme for Last Stanza Poetry Journal Issue #19 is Fable, and it will feature the works of Swedish folk and fantasy artist John Bauer .
Whether companion or wild, predator or prey, animals’ experiences of health can shine a light on our own. BLR invites submissions that explore how health and healing both transcend and interconnect species, and what this can teach us about being human.
We invite stories, poems, memoir, and non-fiction that explore how, in ways small and large, our awareness of aging and mortality intensify our appreciation of our present (and past) in ways we never anticipated.
Apricity describes the warmth of the winter sun. We are looking for everything related to Winter of Life and weather. Send us your best work depicting the wintery weather of life (harsh realities, cold tragedies, regrets, and hurt) alongside the winter that leaves our skin cold with the kisses of chilling air and snowflake kisses.
For our 12th issue we’re looking for experimental criticism on any films, TV, or music videos set in or that engage with the future.

We want your best forgeries, your most cunning fabrications. We want characters who lie, cheat, and steal; who fashion realities to suit their needs.
In this anthology we will be featuring stories that center around a craft, recipe, or ritual, accompanied by some form of tutorial, lesson, pattern, etc. that is relevant to the theme and relates to the specific story submitted.
Incarcerated Voices: writers and artists who have been incarcerated, worked with incarcerated people, or who have been affected by loved ones who have been incarcerated
