Snapdragon is an international online literary journal for writers, artists, and all who are looking to creativity as a way to explore the healing journey.
We are looking for poetry that pushes language forward, for poets and poems that strive to place themselves at the edge of what language can do.
We interpret the provocation very loosely. It is really up to you to define or reimagine the theme in a way that is helpful. Be brave and bold, have a go, and send us your best.
All of us have some connection to queer relatives, be they actually LGBTQI or not. We love storytelling about odd uncles and twisted sisters.
We are looking for beautiful works exploring Furrows; fields and farming, working with (or against) the natural environment, traditional childhoods, countryside life and imagery around earth and growth are all interpretations of this theme we’d particularly like to see
We encourage diverse writing from independent writers.

Your story must be true, but the way you tell it is your chance to get creative. We are open to all styles of essay—from personal essay to lyric essay to hybrid essay, and beyond!

The theme is “Splendor” — however you conceive such glory and magnificence that comes with the word!
Submissions are restricted to those who are Indigenous and have a connection to the Great Lakes Region.
We are devoted to the exploration of the quest for meaning as it is expressed in the world’s myths, symbols, and religious traditions, with particular emphasis on the relationship between this store of wisdom and our modern life.
