PFN – The Moth Nature Writing Prize 2022
Seeking an exploration of the writer’s relationship with the natural world.
Most events are installed on their deadline date, unless there is a long submission window or unless it's a rolling submission.
P=Poetry, N=Nonfiction, F=Fiction
Seeking an exploration of the writer’s relationship with the natural world.
Interpret those words as you will. We can't wait to see what is stirred.
We are especially interested in quiet, lingering pieces that take place in winter and evoke the feeling of the season.
The heart of what we want is your personal, visceral, idiosyncratic understanding of the world and the people in it as a consequence of humanity’s relationship with the earth.
Poems may be submitted from any country & must be in English.
This is a competition where the prize truly reflects the skill required to encapsulate an entire story in just 500 words.
We want stories of cashiers, custodians, servers, concierges, stockers, line cooks, bar tenders, maids etc.
Make them spooky. Make them real. Make them MIDLVLMAG!
Previously published poems from journals, magazines, anthologies, newsletters, blogs, etc. are welcome.
We want your weird, muddy, and messy - the turtles without shells, boiled frogs, & mushroom-capped fairies. Show us what's in your swamp.
Use the theme literally to develop work in words which reflect current or historic studies of the cosmos. Or become the next Jules Verne, Robert Heinlein, or other sci-fi author.
Send us your thought provoking existentialism, your phobias, your darkest moments. Entrance us with your whimsical fantasy. Move us to tears with your truth in a world of suffering. Captivate and intrigue us with your hopes and dreams.
We publish poetry, creative nonfiction, and poetry -- with a healing bent -- from those across the globe.
Honoring Steve Kowit’s contributions to American Poetry
Justice is the center of gravity and resistance is how we get there.
Seeking works that tackle both the physical and the intangible trials and joys of possessing and being a body.
We explore original work which inspires awareness of the human condition.
Life often offers us both: beauty and terror. Where is the Eye of the Tiger in you?
The personal, engaging and funny aspects of saying "Never again."
Creating peace within ourselves and with others is a journey. What does your journey look like?
No lurid sexual adventures or drug-induced hazes.
