The contest is open to Canadian citizens aged 25 and younger who are enrolled in or are attending an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution in 2021 or 2022.
We look for works that have the ambition of enlarging our view of ourselves and the world.
We’re looking for excerpts that show off a sense of style, with a clear grasp on craft.
Poems can be on any subject, in any style, by a writer of any nationality, living anywhere in the world.
The mission of this contest is to inspire creativity, great writing, and provide well-rewarded recognition to contestants.
Fourth Genre is a literary journal devoted to publishing notable, innovative work in creative nonfiction. We showcase works that are lyrical, self-interrogative, meditative, and reflective, as well as expository, analytical, exploratory, or whimsical.
